UKHOZI FM

UKhozi FM is the biggest radio station in South Africa, with a listenership of over 7 million. In a fluid world of broadcasting, Ukhozi FM needs to come up with programmes to reach and stay in contact with the people. The significance of these programmes is that they are in isiZulu.

Responding to the evolving media consumption and audience patterns, language matters.

As part of promoting vernacular languages, Igunundu Agency partnered with Ukhozi FM – a first of its kind – to develop and share content for Ukhozi FM special programmes. The partnership will assist the station in its quest to offer diverse content, mix platforms and reach.

  • A programme on the commemoration two years since the passing of the longest reining AmaZulu King Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu; SibungazaInyandezulu
  • A programme marking a year since the incumbent King MisuZulu was ushered into the kraal: ISILOEsibayeni.
